See the edited prelude I added to the article.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13838708587730716493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4900186601661215466.post-66680692364860742492017-03-10T18:24:24.838-08:002017-03-10T18:24:24.838-08:00Got it - that's very tough. All the more respect for what you've been able to do and accomplish there.pftqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15022821851361476272noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4900186601661215466.post-57841810645308187252017-03-09T12:27:46.174-08:002017-03-09T12:27:46.174-08:00I am absolutely positive that is not the problem b...I am absolutely positive that is not the problem because for lower frequencies, I can FEEL the studio monitors producing bass, but it is completely inaudible to me. I can even lightly touch the speaker itself and feel it vibrating, but whatever tone it is producing is inaudible. Furthermore, the low frequency test that I use has precisely the same results between both my headphones and my studio monitors (tone becomes slightly audible at around 70 Hz at loud volumes, only becomes truly audible at 90 Hz). This makes it INCREDIBLY unlikely to be an equipment problem, unless both my studio monitors and my headphones have PRECISELY the same bass cutoff.

I have also never been able to hear these tones under any circumstances, ever, no matter where I am or whose speakers I'm using.

At some point I may get a proper hearing test just to be sure, but I'm very confidant in the results of my simple experiment here.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13838708587730716493noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4900186601661215466.post-57707896851722863022017-03-09T07:42:00.343-08:002017-03-09T07:42:00.343-08:00I've come across a lot of monitors that have a...I've come across a lot of monitors that have almost a cut-off in bass response. Have you tried just regular speakers with subwoofer? I often switch over to regular consumer speakers with subwoofer just to hear 80 hz and below. That's tough though if you really can't hear it.

Pascal (the producer guy who made chocolates for everyone in Dec and is coming in May) loves mixing bass though. If you ever need a sound check, know you can also reach out him (he does this for a living). Even his monitors almost seem to cut off at 80hz though, which is why I mentioned it might be monitors in general.pftqhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15022821851361476272noreply@blogger.com
